Definitions

Rank: Our calculated ranking of each product based on gravity. The product with the highest gravity is ranked 1.

Rank +/-: This is the number of ranks the product has risen or fallen since the previous update

Rank High: The highest rank this product has achieved.

Date Of Highest Rank: The rank was achieved on this date. If it has been this rank for more than one update (eg: number 1 for four weeks) this is the date it first reached that rank.

Gravity: Number of distinct affiliates who earned a commission by referring a paying customer to the publisher's products. This is a weighted sum and not an actual total. For each affiliate paid in the last 8 weeks we add an amount between 0.1 and 1.0 to the total. The more recent the last referral, the higher the value added.

Grv +/-: The number of gravity points this product has risen or fallen since the last update.

Grv High: The highest gravity this product has reached.

Date of highest gravity: The date this product reached its highest gravity.

7 Day Average: A figure unique to CB-advantage. We work out the average gravity the product has achieved over the last seven days. We then use this to work out how quickly the product is selling.

Id: The Clickbank ID of the product.

Name: Brief description

%Earned/Sale: Average percentage commission earned per affiliate per referred sale. This number should only vary if the publisher has changed their payout percentage over time.

Earned/Sale: Average net amount earned per affiliate per referred sale. Note that this is the net earned per actual sale, and so it is impacted by refunds, chargebacks, and sales taxes. (Effective 28 July 2005, unfunded sales, such as returned checks, do not impact this number.)

%Referred: Fraction of publisher's total sales that are referred by affiliates.

Date First Seen: The date the product first appeared in the marketplace OR, if it's an older product, the date we started tracking the data.

Date Last Seen: The last time the product appeared in the Clickbank feed. This is always todays date for active products.

Status: Active if the product appeared in the last update. Inactive if it didn't. Always contact the vendor or Clickbank if you want to promote an inactive product. It may not be for sale anymore.

Graphs:

Gravity: The latest gravity to the right of the graph. The higher the gravity, the more popular it is. The red line shows the 7 day average figure. Generally, if the blue line is above the red line, it is constantly increasing in gravity, and is a popular product. If it is below the blue line, it is falling in gravity. Look at this graph with the Earned/Sale graph. If the gravity line suddenly shoots up, check that the vendor hasn't reduced his price (earned/sale line falling).

Earned/Sale: Shows the average amount earned per sale. If this graph is declining, the product suffers badly from refunds. If it is more or less or horizonal line, it is a constantly good seller.

Referred: Shows the % of overall sales taken by affiliates. If the line is rising, or is near the top, more affiliates are promoting it.

Commission: This is the % of the overall sales amount the affilate receives.

How do I Find Hidden Clickbank Gems?

Clickbank provides a daily file which contains all the currently active products in the database. It contains the product ID, gravity, commission details and the categories it appears in.

There are more than one problem with that file.

1. It is very big and difficult to analyse.
2. It only tells you what the Clickbank marketplace already tells you
3. It can only tell you current product data, and not the history
4 You can't tell if a product is rising or falling in popularity, or the speed of the changes

People say that to look to the future, you first have to look at the past. This is exactly what we do.

The Hot List is the most powerful of the reports and uses our special formula to find fast moving products.The report below is an excerpt from the Hot List available to all members. It tells you which products have made the best gains since the previous update. This is an actual report taken from 30th January 2007. The information shown on this page tells you:

Rank - Our calculated rank in the whole marketplace based on gravity
+/- How many places the product has gained or lost since the last update
Rank high - The highest rank this product has achieved
Gravity - The current Clickbank gravity.
Grv +/- The gravity change since last update
Grv high - The highest gravity this product has reached
ID - The Clickbank code for the product
Name - The short description
% - The commission % you earn
Earn - The commission in $

The hotlist

You can see instantly which products have gained the most gravity since the last update. There are some products on here that are probably under most peoples radar. They are not currently a top ranked product, but they are certainly going in the right direction.

This report isn't ranked on the gravity increase that day, it is based on the gravity increase over the average of the last seven days. This is because if a product is falling in popularity and has fallen 20 gravity points in the last week, and then it suddenly 'spikes' upwards of 10 gravity points, we wouldn't want it to appear on the report, as in our eyes, that doesn't make a very hot product.

Let's take a closer look at one product

Towards the bottom, Adwordo has caught my eye. It is ranked at 197th, with a 2.88 gravity increase to 30.87 since the previous update. Generally products with a gravity of around 20-70 are good products to promote. More importantly, the earnings of $54.53 per sale make it look a tempting proposition. Clicking on the adwordo link takes you to the product info page.

These are some of the statistics available from the product info page. You can instantly see that with Adwordo, you earn $54 per sale. It is ranked at 197, and is at its highest ranking since coming into the marketplace.

It has increased in gravity 10% since the previous days update. The gravity is 30.87, but it only appeared on Clickbank 19 days ago. It's looking like a very good product to promote.

This is confirmed by looking at the graph below.

It shows the current gravity (the blue line) against the seven day average (the red line). CB-Advantage is unique in taking the previous seven days gravity figures and averaging them out. This takes out a lot of the 'spikes' often seen in Clickbank sales. If the products gravity is above the average, then it is gaining in popularity. If it is a long way above the average then it is one to promote.

Looking at the graph it leaves you in no doubt that this is indeed one hot product. The product info page shows other graphs but this is the most important.

If you were simply looking through the Clickbank marketplace you would only see part of the picture. You'd see the products position in each of the categories, but three out of the four categories, it's not yet in the top ten. You can't make a good judgement on the category ranks alone, you need to know the full gravity history which we give you.
